Jo makes business awards shortlist
Jo Loveridge of Albany Funerals, Maidstone made the 22-strong list of finalists in the 14th annual NatWest Everywoman Awards, which celebrate female business owners.
Jo, who was in the Athena award category for the most inspirational woman running a business trading between six and nine years, acquired a failing funeral business from her estranged husband and turned it around by embracing both traditional and innovative, funerals.
In three years Jo has more than doubled turnover, acquired more staff and run community events such as friendship coffee mornings for the recently bereaved and an annual balloon release in memory of friends and relatives.
The awards were judged by 19 of the country’s most successful businesswomen.
