Family award for Anderson Macguire
Anderson Maguire Funeral Directors has won the health and welfare title in the Family Business United Awards (FBU) 2016.
Presented with the award at an event in London, chairman Dom Maguire said: “My guiding principal has always been to provide a service to our clients that we would hope to receive ourselves in our time of need.
“My own family has been an integral part of the development of the company and many people who work for us are mothers and sons, brothers and sisters, cousins etc, so the notion of family and what it means has always been critical to our success.
“We remain a steadfastly independent family business in Scotland and by moving with the times and making intelligent business decisions, we plan to continue to grow as one of Scotland’s leading family businesses.”
Founder and MD of the FBU Awards Paul Andrews said Anderson Maguire was a worthy winner: “The judges were impressed with the longevity of the family firm and the innovation and evolution of the business since it was founded,” he added.
"family values are at the heart"
“Strong values are evident throughout the business and, given the nature of what they do, it is not a surprise that family values are at the heart. Governance and succession have also been addressed, and the appointment of a non-family MD shows the desire of the family to ensure the business has the right people in place to drive the next phase of their journey.”
Anderson Maguire was founded by Dom Maguire in 1982 and has 11 branches Glasgow area.
