Golf day raises £15,000 for charity

A golf day event organised by a Watford funeral firm has raised an impressive £15,000 for a pioneering children’s charity.

Brothers Daniel and Adam Ginder from M. K. Ginder & Sons Funeral Directors set up the annual Martyn K. Ginder Memorial Golf Day in memory of their father, who passed away in 2011.

The event has raised funds every year for causes close to their hearts, and the pair are pictured presenting a cheque for the 2014 and 2015 proceeds to the PACE Centre in Aylesbury, a charity that helps to transform the lives of children with disabilities.

Daniel and Adam heard of the centre’s work when they discovered that family friends had to raise tens of thousands of pounds each year to fund the therapeutic education of their severely disabled son Freddie.

Over 100 golfers took part in the 2014 and 2015 golf extravaganzas, which included dinner, a raffle and an auction. Teams from local businesses and organisations competed and raised a combined total of £15,000.

Daniel said: “It is simply amazing to see so many people honouring the life of our dad, and helping us keep up his mantle of supporting local charities and causes."
