Sculptor creates unique wire memorial tributes
A Suffolk sculptor has come up with a unique concept in memorial tributes – bespoke sculptures made from the likes of stainless steel and copper wire.
Becki Manns’ company, Magical Daydreams Sculpting sells bespoke sculptures worldwide, using materials such as stainless steel, aluminium mesh, coloured copper wire, knitted wire and various gemstone beads to create bespoke sculptures for the home, garden or business.
She works with clients to design sculptures for any occasion, but has discovered a pattern of requests from bereaved clients keen to create something unique to represent their loved ones.
“They seem to like that they are so personal and different from 'normal' memorials and that they have a positive spin to them rather than a focus for mourning,” she explained.
“I feel so honoured every time I am asked to make a memorial sculpture. The stories behind them are often so sad but it’s lovely to be able to create something that can make them smile through their sadness.”
The sculptures can depict all sorts of aspects of the person – hobbies perhaps, or even signature dance moves.
Bespoke sculptures of figures start at £50 + p&p, and Becki is happy to discuss working with funeral directors.
Orders are taken through Becki’s Facebook page and website www.magicaldaydreamssculpting.com.
