Nominate a colleague for an #EverydayHero award

A new weekly funeral award has been launched to recognise the unsung heroes working selflessly in the sector to serve families during the pandemic.

Funeral directors have been on the frontline of the pandemic and have had to adapt to difficult and unknown working conditions to support families and individuals in need of their services; often placing the needs of others before themselves.

In order to shine a spotlight on these unsung heroes, funeral directors’ software platform Seker is inviting funeral companies across the UK to nominate a colleague to go in the running to win Seker’s weekly #EverydayHero award – a £50 John Lewis voucher to recognise the dedication and commitment to the profession.

Charlie Field, CEO of SekerTech and Deputy Chairman at C.P.J. Field. comments: “Funeral directors have witnessed the raw reality of the pandemic, confronted with those that have been taken too soon; those for whom lockdown was an unliveable challenge and the many others aside.
“As a key business partner for Funeral Directors, Seker is uniquely placed to value and champion the role of the funeral sector, and funeral directors in particular. The #EveryDayHeroes campaign aims to shine a spotlight on a forgotten cohort of society’s unsung heroes, as an independent witness to the work they are doing.”

Nominations can be made at https://seker.co.uk/everyday-heroes/ and must include a brief citation of no more than 300 words and a photo. Seker will use its social media channels to announce and publicise the weekly winners, and the campaign will run for 12 months.
