Hat trick for Funeral Services Partnership

Funeral Services Partnership (FSP) has acquired three more funeral companies as it continues its drive for growth.

MM Broad & Son in North London, Burgess & Harper in the West Midlands and Wythenshawe Funeral Services in Manchester have all joined the umbrella group.

“These businesses provide FSP with a platform to further extend our services into the local communities, building on the excellent work of the previous owners,” said Chris Aylward, acquisitions and property director (pictured).

“It has been very exciting to complete these deals and see our new management team working so well to ensure the integration of these businesses right from day one.

“We will be working closely with the teams to understand their local needs and putting in investment, training and improved processes to build further on the strong foundations laid down by the previous owners to build a brand with a reputation for reliability, trust and quality.”

The acquisition of MM Broad & Son extends the new North London operation, established with the recent addition of the four branches of John Nodes Funeral Service.

Working closely with the previous owner Martin Broad, and his experienced staff, FSP intends “to build on this strong, established name in the local Jewish community around Barnet, North London”.

The purchase of Burgess & Harper Funeral Directors in the Penn area of Wolverhampton has strengthened FSP’s presence in the West Midlands area. The owners Peter Harper and Ken Burgess have an established name with the local Caribbean community and they and their team will continue to work with FSP to ensure that this continues to grow.

Wythenshawe Funeral Services in Manchester provides FSP with a further extension of the service in the south of Manchester. The previous owners Andrew Meads and Neil MacDonald will be remaining with the business to continue with their impressive local community involvement and help spread their innovative approach across the company.

“These acquisitions underline our intent to continue to acquire good quality funeral businesses and grow our network across the country,” said chief executive Phillip Greenfield.

“With seven branches already purchased since June and a number of further acquisitions planned for 2013 these are exciting times at FSP.”
